Garble sound when key is not in "0" setting

It's been a problem for us to hear garble sound when we adjust the key setting lower or higher. But if it's set to "0" is fine. I don't pay attention much to this issue even this problem has been there for a long time. It just happen that my friend changes the key that they complain to me about that. It doesn't matter what song is being played. My main computer and my player computer is doing the same thing. We never have this issue on the old old version so I might have to downgrade to old version if no solution for this. Lot's of people complain about this. And I tried to play around with the audio setting or any setting we can think of and we gave up..I hope somebody has a good resolution for this. Thanks

What version do you have? First under Tools/Settings/Audio check your playback offset setting. The default is 10. If it is less than 10 try starting at 10 and increase higher and see if you can solve the problem. Try setting your audio setting above normal. Also try turning the "Tempo" feature off. You may also want to check for a driver update for your audio card. Hope this helps.

Re: Garble sound when key is not in "0" setting

I've got the new version 5.41.01 and we already tried lots of setup combination to fix it. I thought this new version will fix the problem. Btw, this is an issue for us since they installed the tempo mode and since then, we just live with it. Except that few people wants to sing in a lower key or higher key that this bad sound occur. There's no problem if the key is in '0".. if nobody pay attention to this issue, we might have to install an older version that works. We do recording on the fly when somebody is singing and the result is not convincing. Like i said, if the key is "0" we have no problem. We tried using usb sound adapter and same thing. Anyway, thanks for your suggestion...

Did you try disabling "Tempo" as I suggested?

Re: Garble sound when key is not in "0" setting

The only time I have seen this is when us timers have their songs imported at a low compression ratio. If you are below 128k this will happen, and there is no fix as it is in the files itself. The only way is to import from scratch at a higher ratio.

You can email me a few files at support@mtu.com

Re: Garble sound when key is not in "0" setting

all of my songs are doing the same problem..we placed 4 computers of my friend with thier own hoster amd all of them have the same problem. if I can only send you samples would be better. Note : Older version of Hoster doesn't do it. I'm going to spend time to prove that this is a Hoster issue. Before, we use to compile songs on cd with a lower key to be use when we are going to a karaoke bar. I use keyrite and microstudio to make it but not anymore..I can guarantee that the older version can do it..But thanks anyway.. we are already expecting problems everytime we do upgrade..we still have other alternative using other software...As of now, I'm the only one in my group that have the latest upgrade...

You say that you tried lots of setup combinations but you didn't say if you tried what I suggested. Can't help if you don't answer the questions. Sorry you and your friends are having problems. I have 3 computers and several friends running Hoster and not one of us are having the problem you describe. That is why I asked the questions in an effort to help. Sorry.

Re: Garble sound when key is not in "0" setting

Sorry Waltr.. Anyway I did switch to normal Tempo and like I said, we've been trying to figure this out for so many months. And we always use different software to use for playing..It's not a big deal for us cause we have alternate software that we use. But if there's a fix for this, we'll stick with Hoster.. My friend has the V5.09.2 and we're using it without any problem..But it's okay if this is like this.. we have use other software anyway. The sad thing is nobody in my group doesn't want to upgrade. It's a proven fact that evrytime there's a new upgrade, there's always another problem.. For now we can live with the problem. But i hope nobody compalins about this other than me....Thanks
