Once the update has been verified. Open Microstudio. Click on the Drives menu at the top. Click on ASPI Drivers. Change this to Use the default driver. Click OK. Close Microstudio, then Reopen Microstudio. The drives should now show

Bug... this should be the default setting Doh!!!!!

now I have the drives recognized

I read your post an many others and never once
did I see that or the drives tab. the old driver may
have worked not going to try that now

next I bought a yamaha CRW-F1E today
It is having errors ( only a few on a few frames )
and always on the same place of the screen.
it looks to me like the CDR ( CD-Rom ) is doing
the bit convertion to PC. thats why the yamaha
has errors and the HP 9300 dose not have them
