Re: Hoster still crashing

Roy....Hoster is still Crashing
if I save the files I have created that have my "SINGERS" and "KEY" and playlist information in them to my desktop.........then uninstall hoster 5.08...............reload it and place the saved "SINGERS" and "KEY" and playlist files back in the C:MTU folder will I lose my "SINGERS" and "KEY" and playlist or will it be intact..????
At this point I might have to reload my Alienware laptop and start from scratch...........
Thanks for your help.......
Dan

What you suggest would safeguard your playlists.
If you have the room on a spare hard drive or usb stick (About 100MB should cover it) you could save the whole Hoster folder which contains lots of other recoverable data should you find you need to replace later, your playlist files are normally saved in here unless you changed the path.

That Hoster folder is in the C/MTU folder.

I don't think a normal uninstall removes the Hoster folder but saving it before uninstalling would be a safeguard.

As you say it only started crashing since getting your new Alienware computer, How did you get your files and playlist into it from your old computer ?
When you did this do the files all follow the same path as previously ?

For example if your songs were on the C\ drive on the old computer and in a particular folder do they follow exactly the same file path on the new computer ?

I started from scratch and loaded everything in.....and yes it followed the same path....nothing has changed as far as Hoster is concerned other than I took advantage of the last update offered and "I THINK" now that I recall is when I started having trouble.........(NOT 100 percent sure tho)

What files if you know would I have to save to keep my singers and key information.......????
Thanks
dan

They are releasing a new update probably in the next 24 hours 5.09, you might be eligible for this if you want to see if that solves your problem.

Re: Hoster crashing

Try installling it again from the link above, use upgrade. When Hoster opens you should see the splash screen saying 5.09.

Re: Hoster crashing

I installed mine via Hoster Help/Check for updates after starting Hoster.
It shows on mine from the Help/about Hoster as 5.09.
If you have 5.09 you should also see these extra options from the Help tab. Extras are: Performance changes, Ask the community, visit us on facebook.
Also from the tools menu there would be an option for "Hoster data folder".
If your not seeing those extra items then you still have 5.08.
