Re: unable to open singer database
Are you using the latest version of Hoster with your Windows 8 system ?
If so and the previous post didn't work, a couple of things you can try: 1) Try restoring your computer to a time before the problem started, see if that helps. 2) If that doesn't help re-download the software and install again, I say re download just in case you got the very first release of 5.08 that had a bug in it, try restarting if you get the same message open C\MTU\Hoster folder again, this time delete both Songs.mdb and singers.mdb then restart Hoster. If your music files are stored on an external drive be sure to have it connected before starting Hoster for the fist time after deleting the songs.mdb as it will start rebuilding the database before opening.

Re: unable to open singer database
I've tried that, it doesn't work. Also re downloaded newest software and used it to re do, still doesn't work.
I also completely removed the program and reinstalled it. Still comes up with the same problem. Last edited by leecoprod; February 17th, 2013 at 12:39 PM. |

Re: unable to open singer database
If none of the previous posts help then maybe best to submit a support ticket and point to this thread in the submission.
Sorry I couldn't help.

Re: unable to open singer database
One last stab at this, it may be something in your registry which when you uninstall does not get removed.
So un-instal again. Then open your C\MTU folder this time if the Hoster folder is still there delete it. Then not sure if this will be the same in Windows 8 but follow these instructions to delete the registry keys: http://www.mtu.com/faq-test.php?article=26 On the first bit where it states Start click Run instead of that just type regedit.exe in the search box then from the results click it to start it. Then re boot computer, then re-install. This should then be as if you never had Hoster on this computer before so if as you say it installed correctly before then I see no reason why it shouldn't again. Best of luck. ![]() ![]()

Re: unable to open singer database
none of it worked. I have no idea what the problem is, I've removed it completely, re installed, removed all the registry stuff, still no luck. Comes up, picks cd roms to test, then says can't find singers database again. Very frustrating. I have put in a request for assistance but don't know how to add this thread to it.
