I just opened Hoster and neither one is highlighted.

I can search just fine.

Doesn't matter to me if it is by words or string.

Almost like it is searching both ways.

Yes, I see, when you open the search neither one is highlighted, by default, but when you HIGHLIGHT ONE sometimes it reverts to both being greyed out. For some reason it doesn't stay that way all the time after highlighting one.
