Re: moving on to a new computer

I have a similar situation.
I am using Ver. 4.3. I want to keep my old computer as is since I use multiple computers and have the licenses. I want to be able to use my external hard drive with both. I told the computers that the external hard drive is the same letter on both.
The problem I have on the new computer is that the "C:\USER" folder is not the same as the old computer. When I do a song search, the "C\USER" error pops up and is different than what is on the old computer.
I'm not sure what to do or change

Is this a new Windows 7 computer? Have you done all the recommended changes for Windows 7 on this computer? Also are you using the same version of Hoster on both computers?
The link if you need it for the Windows 7 changes is as follows:

Hoster is normally in the C:/MTU folder (C:/MTU/Hoster) Thats the path it should be on all your computers. I don't know where you get "C\USER" from.

Then your external drive with all your songs on could be anything but probably E:/xxxxx or F:/xxxxx (xxxxx being your song folder on that drive)

With your hard drive attached go Start/My Computer, is the external showing the same volume letter when plugged in to all computers?

As long as the external registered as the same on all computers there should be no problem.

Re: moving on to a new computer

When I do a search for a song on the new computer and click on the song that I want (song files on the external hard drive), a pop up window says "Bad Zip File C:\USER\neilymon\AppData\Local\Temp\MTU_Hoster\auout-2.zzz"

Now on the other computer, the folder is Not neilymon but neil

Re: moving on to a new computer

When you installed Hoster on your new computer, did you change the default path ?

Re: moving on to a new computer

If you open your Tools/Songs database/Build database, in the dialog bottom left window, do the file paths in the indexed folders lists match on both computers ?
