Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

After installing the newest version on Hoster I can't get any videos to play, even those that were working on 5.02. I also tried adjusting the merit and still no videos, they play with only a black screen and no sound and when I hit the stop button, hoster freezes for about 3-4 mins.

Ken I will have a look at the document! Thanks again!

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

Chad,

Hopefully what is in the document will get you up and running.

I tested what is in the document for more than 9 hours with no problems.

I discovered a side benefit, my computer does not get as hot as it used to.

Let me know!

Thanks!

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

Ken thank you so much, I now have all my videos up and running!!!

The only thing is that my .MP4 files take a good 25-30 seconds to load, while the others start right up. Any ideas on how I can speed this up?

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

Chad,

My MPEG4 files run just fine. Try adjusting the other filters that you tried before back to their default settings, approx 0200000. Do them one at a time trying Hoster after each adjustment.

Let me know!

At least we are headed in the right direction!

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

I am not sure what exactly is going on. All went well on my previous show but then my show on Wed I ended up with studdering video/audio when playing video and didn't have much going on in the background. Still have issues with MP4 but others play fine (except for the studder). Which oddly ONLY happens when played through Hoster. I ended up playing videos through media player classic on my ext.desktop and all went well. Which leads me to believe that it is Hoster giving me the issues. I think I will just continue to play videos outside hoster till I figure this mess out.

i thinks its the graphic card, and not Hoster..does the stuttering happens on extended display and have you tried playing the videos on just your main monitor ? the reason i asked was that i have the same issues, i havent tried playing music videos on Hoster yet, played just plain vcd and i have no problems, i've been djing lately and i've been playing some music videos using a vdj program, no problem of any kind when playing music videos just on my main monitor and wmp..i get stuttering and out of sync when it's extended to the 2nd and 3rd 22" lcd monitors..but the problem goes away when the screen is minimize.. and also check your cpu usage...does your main monitor and 2nd monitor has the same refresh rate they should be around 60hz.. (european should be around 50hz ) and does both monitors set to its native resolution ( 1920 x 1080 or whatever ?)

I woldn't think Hoster would be the problem if everything ran fine the first show and not the second.

What was different between the 2 shows?

Did you play the same videos @ both shows?

Did you do a windows update, existing software update, driver update, or add new software between the 2 shows?

Anything else that might have been different between the 2 shows that you could think of would be helpful.

Thanks!

Found this in the questions and answers section of K-Lite: Which can be found from K-light/Help/FAQ.
Q:The video stutters a lot when I play it fullscreen
A:This can be a result of certain graphics card settings. Try changing the following settings in your graphics card control panel:
- Set FSAA to 'Let the application decide'
- Disable anisotopic filtering (AF)
- Disable antialiasing

May be of some help
