Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

Comp: HP
Model: Pavilion dv8 Notebook
RAM: 4GB
Graph Card NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M current driver 8.15.11.8644
(I know there is a newer one but it messes with Hoster so had to roll back to that driver and videos have worked in the past with this driver)

Hope that helps

-Chad

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

Chad,

A lot has changed since the last "Filter Tweaks" I posted.

Go back into GSpot and try these and let me know what happens.

Set the filter merit for "ffdshow Video Decoder" to 0xE00000 .

Next, set "Video Mixing Renderer 9", to "0xA00000".

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

Chad,

I see that we have near identical Laptops except for the manufacturer. The attached is something I have tested over the weekend and has worked for me.

Let me know your results.

Thanks!

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

After installing the newest version on Hoster I can't get any videos to play, even those that were working on 5.02. I also tried adjusting the merit and still no videos, they play with only a black screen and no sound and when I hit the stop button, hoster freezes for about 3-4 mins.

Ken I will have a look at the document! Thanks again!

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

Chad,

Hopefully what is in the document will get you up and running.

I tested what is in the document for more than 9 hours with no problems.

I discovered a side benefit, my computer does not get as hot as it used to.

Let me know!

Thanks!

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

Ken thank you so much, I now have all my videos up and running!!!

The only thing is that my .MP4 files take a good 25-30 seconds to load, while the others start right up. Any ideas on how I can speed this up?

just read ]something about your current graphic card
'
' g-force is built to support, by default, a single monitor consequently does not have controls for multiple monitors. The reason for this is that there are thousands of diff. combination of video cards video drivers and operating system control, however most multiple monitor configuration have drivers/system control for managing multiple screens, review your existing system controls for your graphic card driver feature"

Thanks Billy!

Not sure how the above applys.

However everything is working great here, even when I connect 4 displays ( 1 LCD singers monitor, 2 LCD 32" Flat Panels, and a projector or 60" plasma).

On top of that I'm using a Beta version (NVidia's newest) of my Video Card's driver.

It all plays full screen wether it is video (VOB, MPEG4, MPEG2, DAT), CD+G, MP3+G, KMA.

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

glad its working , i haven't been doing a lot of karaoke lately and i have not tried to play music videos on Hoster, i've been doing a lot of djing, mostly private parties ( more money ) and it's just in the last few weeks that i got into playing music videos.which is not really that critical for me to have it working , since no one sees it except me, .hopefully in the near future i will be able to get this little issue fix..but anyway i'm glad to read that everything is working fine now...

Re: Problems playing video files on extended desktop

Billyo, why not convert your music video to vcd compliant format(Mpeg1 or mpeg2) and play it on hoster

i've been been djing lately, and it's been a while since i did karaoke ( it's kinda dead here in my part of town ) and i really never look for a place to do karaoke, so i never gave it a though of converting any of them, and also it's only been a few weeks that i got into playing music video, i am using vdj pro 7 that is able to do karaoke too, i havent use it yet though...maybe in the near future when i have enough music videos..( 60 music videos so far )..but anyway thanks for the suggestion
