Re: Please reccomend Speaker/amp/mixer
Apparently your board is not powered, so i take it you already have a power amp correct? If that's the case, i wouldn't spend the extra for powered speakers, i'd use what i have and add passives. Let us know for sure. Also, there are a lot of good speaker cabs, both powered & passive that use "Neodymium" speakers, so you don't have to be limited to 12" because of weight. So you have many more options today then you did just a few years ago. I use 15" Carvin Cabs, loaded with Eminience 15" kappalites. They will blow anything in their class away, weight, less then 14 pounds each.

Re: Please reccomend Speaker/amp/mixer
oops...see all you have is a non powered mixer...sorry 'bout that. Not sure how big of a club you're doing. But i'd try these, light, great reviews, and great customer service. Which is so important.
http://www.carvinguitars.com/product...?product=LM12A I current run 4 front of house speakers. 2 Carvin LM15 two ways, and 2 LM153 three ways. I traded out the standard neo's, and loaded mine with 15" kappalites. The stock speakers are also good in these. They are built by B&C a top shelf italian speaker manufacture. I just happen to prefer a cast fram transducer is all, like the kappalites. Good Luck. George |

Re: Please reccomend Speaker/amp/mixer
Roy, glad to see someone else likes Wharfedale products. I am currently using their EVP series monitors. They do work dandy. These were on sale, i was kinda skeptical on buying them at first. But the guy says use, don't like'em return'em. So i gave them a shot. I'm inpressed. I like them better then my old Peavey monitors.

Anyway this thread was started last April and I was the only one who responded then, never heard any more from Trelynda who started it so I suppose they got sorted by now.

Re: Please reccomend Speaker/amp/mixer
OOP'S...i didn't notice that roy, sorry. But you are so right. Every cab i own, i have neodymium speakers in. Got rid of that big SKB rolling GigRig rack case to. It was like moving a refrigerator. 16 rack spaces on top, and 12 i think on the bottom. Almost gave that thing away...worthless going up a set of stairs... Please be careful over there in the UK, hope you're not in harms way. Your Bud, George

While were on the subject of equipment I have mine housed in An ABS DJ rack 10U top 4U front, again keeps things light and tidy. I attach a picture of my set up, not the most expensive gear but suits my purposes. ![]()

I bought one of those gig rig racks ( with two fold out wings ) and never used it because of the size and weight you are talking about... I left it in storage, and like you, I will probably end up giving it away to get rid of it... and I know with accessories it ran over a thousand bucks! I've only been holding onto it, in case I settle down and can play out of one location without being mobile every night! I now use two softsided carrying cases for primary laptop, mixer, backup laptop, audio interface, assorted goodies. Then a plastic container for 25 books (heaviest is 25 lbs) and another for assorted wires and connectors. For speakers I use the Bose PAS Classic with 2 bass subwoofers, and I can handle anything from a house party to a 250 person nightclub with a very small footprint, and not a lot of set-up, and tear-down time, and easy on the old man's back... lol P.S. Roy, Like how clean and slimline your set-up is! I've got wires and cords running everywhere on my table!

Re: Please reccomend Speaker/amp/mixer
Like you rick, i have cables running all over the place. I use a 6 space Gator colored rack, and a 2 space Gator colored rack for my power amp. I simply sit my allen & Health board ontop of the Gator case, and it's ready to go. Roy, your set up looks great, easy to find everything, and streamlined. George
