TIC=Tongue In Cheek. I've honestly never had a problem with anyone i've hired in 20 years, well except one host that that he could take the show - that didn't happen.

Must be nice! I WISH I could be a better judge of character sad though I even judged my family wrong LOL! You just must be one of those big burly guys who everyone is scared of messing with

No not really big guy. Guess I have just been lucky. I try to hire people with no experience to start with. Family hiring is always a no no even friends are often no no's. Usually customers that do not try to be the show, decent singers (although not always a stout requirement), good with people, and have never really shown any 'interest' in being a host - these are usually the best hosts. I usually shy away from people that WANT to be hosts because they see hosting as not a job, but as a night to party & sing - these inquiries are 99% turned down.
When I was mobile I did all the set-up & tear down of every show - even the ones I didn't work, but did have a couple people I could have do that as well if needed. Mainly wanted to make sure everything was set right so all the host had to do was walk in & turn on everything.

There is software to password protect a USB hard drive but I suppose that is of no use unless you set Hoster running yourself.
