Re: Remove Silence Problem

Kate,
Is it processing another 2o-30 tracks each time or is it the same tracks that it processed previously.
From the edit screen enter * and search complete song list then click the header bar for s-e set which should show how many it has processed.

Re: Remove Silence Problem

Hi Roy Dennis,

It would appear to be another 20 - 30 as the overall total is decreasing each time and looking through on edit there is quite a lot done

Thumbs down Re: Remove Silence Problem

Hi Roy Dennis, I removed silence from 10,000 of 22,600 kma files on each of my 2 computers. I have 2 gigs of RAM and duo processors. My operating systems are Windows xp. The versions are Hoster 4.32. I am now getting a message saying Hoster Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for your inconvenience. Please help me with this problem. Thank you.

This usually means you have a corrupted file that is causing Hoster problems. The way to fix these is to use the Edit Songs tool and do the following:
Click Select Multiple
Put a * in the search block and click Find
This will list all of your songs and may take a few seconds to complete.
Highlight all in the list by selecting the top song, scroll to the bottom of the list, hold the shift key down and click on the last song in the list.
Do not change anything else and click on Apply Changes button. This again will take a little bit to complete, but will rewrite all the headers of the files correcting the corruption.

That should fix it and allow the Remove Silence to run completely through.

Kate this may help your situation too.

It is happening to me everytime Hoster reaches 40 songs, it crashes with the same runtime error. I have to close it restart and then it crashes again when it reaches 40.

Re: Remove Silence Problem

The answer should be in this post have you gone through it properly.

It is probably a corrupted file header. Check Dales answer #25 in conjunction with an amendment in post 81.

Re: Remove Silence Problem

So you mean that for every 40 songs that Hoster processes I have a corrupted file. I dont mean to be disrespecful but, what are the chances?

Re: Remove Silence Problem

Every time you start the process you are in effect starting over, so the same file keeps coming up to cause the problem.
