Re: Remove Silence Problem

Howdy, I have uploaded almost all my songs from store bought CD's except about a dozen songs from ITUNES and about 100 songs from Amazon.

There is no silence at the beginning of these songs but the ending silence fluctuates, I just played Eight Days A Week before entering this post and when the silence started there was still 6 seconds left counting down.

I was ready to leave this alone, but was responding to ADMIN's post

Stu, I take exception to that. We added Audio and Video file paying into the Playlist, and added the Background Audio Player so you didn't need other audio player or DJ programs to play audio.

Hoster has an extremely sophisticated method to detect the silence before and after a song, even with audio glitches within these areas. It performs very well in 4.32.

What Hoster version are you running?

I did upload these songs to ITUNES (through the years) and recently moved them from my ITUNES folder to my HOSTER AUDIO folder that might be the problem. If it is it would take me much too long to reload the CD's directly to Hoster.

Thanks, Stu

Re: Remove Silence Problem

The last upgrade did fix a bug reported by myself and others where the silence was being removed from the beginning of Karaoke songs but was not stopping play at the set end silence time, this was corrected in the last upgrade.
I believe it only works on the karaoke files. I do not have any imported mp3 files myself but I just tried it on a small folder of 20 songs and it doesn't seem to remove silence on any of them.

Re: Remove Silence Problem

It could be that Itunes does add more silence at the end and probably a bit of noise that Hoster recognizes as part of the song.
I have a Wav editor I use sometimes and it will work on more than just WAV files. It is called WavPad and was a free program. It would be able to show what if anything was in that 6 seconds and can also chop that off.

Re: Remove Silence Problem

i've been removing silence , cutting dead spots, adding transitions and efx on some of my itunes dowloaded songs ( top 40's )using a music editing software, after doing all that, i burn it to a cd , and re-import it to itunes, i then create a playlist. i have never use Hoster for djing purposes, but maybe if you can do what i did on my itunes music, you can create a separate file and import them to Hoster.
