Are these files you are accessing stored on the computers C/ drive or are you trying to access them from a usb drive or other device ?
If they are from an external source I should try another connecting lead just to make sure it's not that. I would think if you bought this from MTU with Hoster installed all updates would already be done but one thing you can just double check if the UAC is turned right down. To do this go to Start/Control Panel/User Account then click the "change user accounts settings" from this window slide the control right to the bottom and click OK. Ignore any warnings. The message to notify you is a Microsoft message nothing to do with Hoster. Sometimes you will get a result back from Microsoft, with a message in the flag icon on the task bar titled "action center" but probably won't be the answer you are looking for.
