Re: Whats the best way to build a data base when you have different file types
Quote:
If you have an older version of Hoster then importing those file types will create a KMA file in the same folder with your CDG imports. If you have the latest (4.22) then Hoster will create a 256 byte KMH file in the same folder as the original MP3+G or ZIP file without changing the original. These too would be added to the database at that time.

Re: Whats the best way to build a data base when you have different file types
Thanks Dale for your comments. yes your correct! I don't have to import the kma files and i tried importing the mpe+g's and they all import perfectly however when i imported the mp3-zipped and then i did a song seach, the songs that were from that zipped folder put the manufactures name, the disc #, trk #, lastname, firstname and then song title all in the song name section and it seemed to default all songs as if they were from the "Legends" ! but they do all play just fine. I used the "easy" method of importing. I'm guessing im gonna have to do it over again but use the "advance" method but it 's a little confusing so do you have any advice on how i should go about reinporting them base i was I found? all other songs are just fine.

Re: Whats the best way to build a data base when you have different file types
Easy method does put all the information in the Title block, so yes you need to use the Advanced and set the order for the items.
Don't forget to delete the ones you did with the easy method through the Edit Tool. Because it basically ignores what was in the filename in the Easy method, then it chose one brand. With the Advanced it should read the DiskID and determine from that the brand.
