Re: Problem with MS Access
Dale,
I uninstalled Office and then did a FULL reinstall. I then went to Hoster and opened Songbook and then choose what to display. When I hit enter, a page came up and displayed this.... Unrecognized Database Format 'C:\MTU\Hoster\SongBook.rtf'. In MTU\Hoster, I do have Songs but no Songs.mdb, also Bucket just says Bucket. Don't know where to go from here!?!? I could sure use your help. Thanks, Ernie |

Re: Problem with MS Access
If you cant find Songs.mdb just open the file named Songs. To view the file extension you will have to reset the view option in folders. From the control panel select "Folders" from the window that opens choose the view Tab, scroll down and untick box "Hide extensions for known file types" Then scroll down further and tick box "Remember each folders View Settings" Then OK.
Now open C:\MTU\Hoster Folder and you should now see the .mdb extensions. Roy. |

Re: Problem with MS Access
Roy,
I did get the extensions, but when I double clicked it a page still opens and says....Unrecognized Database Format 'C:\MTU\Hoster\SongBook.rtf'. It just won't display the list!?!?!? I still don't know what to do!! Thanks though, at least I was able to take another step. Thanks again, Ernie |

Re: Problem with MS Access
As I stated earlier Songbook.rtf is a Microsoft Word format and you open it in Word or Word pad. If you want to view your files in Access you need to open the files "Songs" which if you have your folder view set to show the extensions will show as "songs.mdb"
If you want to open the Songbook.rtf file right click the file from the window that opens choose "open With" if you have Word installed it will show there together with Wordpad, choose Word Roy. Last edited by Roy Dennis; April 7th, 2010 at 06:37 PM. |

Re: Problem with MS Access
Dale,
I now have a new problem. I clicked Create Song Books, then clicked Select Song Book Viewer, I opened C, clicked Programs, and then clicked Office. Under office is Access 1, Clipart, Media, Office 10, Office 11, Office 12, Power Point Viewer, Stationery and templates. I don't know where all of the other programs are.... Now, when I click Start, Programs, Microsoft Office, all the programs are there, Word, Excell, Outlook, Power Point etc. and they all open. How do I get what is in Program into the Program in Explore??? Hope you can help!!! Thanks again, Ernie |
