You can't blank the two fields in question here and there are no options to accomplish this at All.

Why was I told it was done in Version 4.10 4.11 when in reality it was Never Done at all, and then closed the thread, after many post pursuing this much needed issue to be improved?

What is going on here? I'm I doing something wrong or is there a setting I have to set to make this possible.

Joe if you use the Select Multiple button (so you can select more than one song to edit), select the group you want and you will see that all fields (including language and genre) show nothing in them.
If at that point you add anything in any of the fields it will change that field only for all of the selected files when you click Apply. All the rest stay what they were.
This does not apply to the Select Single button since in single all current information is entered in the fields.
So you see this was fixed because it would not do that in 4.06.
