hwheeler....

Thx, for your posts also. Question, tho... were you able to somehow switch to XP from Vista on that same A135 Toshiba laptop? The reason for asking is that we put the l/t in the shop to have the op system changed from Vista to XP. The techs knew from prev experience that drivers weren't showing avlble for XP on this Toshiba l/t. They double chkd, and sure enuff, no drivers avlble, so no way to make XP work for us on this l/t. I called Toshiba support this morning to see if any kind of work arnd was poss. The tech guy said no, that this l/t was designed to work only with Vista. (btw, that is good info I will remember when buying my next cpu from any brand) I hate such limitations, etc., and just fyi to ya'll.

We will give the fixes all of you mentioned a try tonight and see if any improvement or correcting of the problem occurs. Will post the yeas or nays accordingly.

My thanks to all of you. Have lurked the forums for several years. Changed to memphisdave handle back in Aug. Prior to this posted once ref a work arnd for MS when Media Cloq and similar 'track 16' problems started to come into being. Saying that to say thanks for all the time and effort that the regulars and stalwarts put into this forum. It is invaluable, the service that is performed by these individuals.... and I for one am truly grateful!

Will advise asap the results of tonight's experiments.
