Identify which song is stopping the database progress

First of all, sorry if you find any mistakes during my explanation, English is not my first language.

I have found myself with a problem when I build my database, Hoster replies something like this "mfg is missing" since I do not have Microsoft's Access I didn't know how to correct the song(s) with missing info. That interrupts my database building command. Excel helped me out on this matter.

Here is how I resolve it,

As soon as you database building stops you will see the number where it stops. Let say for example that it stops on 32104. (write down the number or numbers where your database building stops)

Close Hoster after it finishes the database and open Excel. Create a blank worksheet

Select the first cell (A1)

Find on the top of Excel the "Data" Menu and find "Import External Data"

It will open a dialog box, then go and find the Hoster Database
in most cases is in C://program files/Micro Technology Unlimited/Hoster/Databases/songs

Import it

You will see that all the info of every song is there including the Record ID. Sort that column descending.

There is where the number(s) that you wrote down before becomes handy.

Go and find that number(s) on the RecordID column.

If we use the number that I mentioned before you will see that you have 32104 and after it you will see 32106. It means that the 32105 is missing some info then find the BookID column and you will see the number of the disc, go to your discs and re import the song that is missing the info.

Remember that since Excel is using the database Hoster won't be allowed to use it. You have to write down every missing file, close Excel and then go to Hoster to do the importing thing.

Hope that this helps a lot of KJ's out there!
