Warning For Virtual Sound Canvas Users

I got a download announcement from Microsoft this morning announcing their new Internet Explorer7 was available for download.

If you use VSC to play Midi files on the internet while searching for files download to make CDG's with in KHP, don't download this update.

I downloaded Explorer7 a couple of weeks ago when I was at the MS site, and suddenly I lost the ability to play midi files through VSC, while on line. Come to find out, Microsoft, in all their wisdom had taken theTemporary Internet folder which is where the files get played from, and turned it into a "hidden" file that VSC could not access. I could not even get in there.

Only through uninstalling Internet Explorer 7, doing a restore, and changing the status of the Temp folder so VSC and I could access it was the problem solved.

Big brother is going too far in trying to "protect" us.

I never use automatic download for anything except for Norton Virus definitions.

Anyway thought I'd pass this on since there are several users on this forum who use VSC to re-sequence midis for use in KHP.
