Some Basic Ripping Questions

Hi Guys,

I finally broke down and bought the $200 DVD drive from MTU, and am ready to convert my CDGs to KMA. I had some questions about some of the features. FYI - I am using Hoster version 3.006 - i bought it about a year ago, and have never upgraded (I usually don't like to get new software versions until they work the bugs out). At this point, I'm not even sure if I can upgrade at no charge, or if I have to pay for any upgrades.

The first disc I inserted was a Chartbuster Country Hits of January 2005 (#60334). In the Import Songs screen, I selected Chartbuster Pro Country. The default disc numbers available range from CB60001 to CB60328 - is this because I need to update the software? Anyway, I had to manually enter the song title and artist - it would be nice not to have to do that.

The book ID is a confusing thing to me. What is the purpose of this? Do I really need to use this as I enter songs? I was able to rip the one disc, but I am stopping the project until I get more information on these issues.

Finally, I got an error message when I got to the last track on the disc, and it did not rip correctly. The Error message stated that "Unable to read sectors 274810 to 274835 on device 3:0:0 Read/Write error or bad medium detected". Is this one of those CDGs with copy protection?

Thanks,
Paul
