Starting Out....

Mike,

First Off, Congrats on wanting to take the plunge into
becomming a KJ, it can be FUN and REWARDING.

as to your question on brands and Quality, here's
some helpful information (keep in mind that this
is based on my opnion and from what I've seen
people using, so other people opnion may differ)

Top Brands: (in no particular order)
--------------------------
Sound Choice
Chartbuster
Monster Hits
Music Maestro
Radio Starz
Top Hits Monthly

Lesser Brands, but decent Quality
--------------------------
Sweet Georgia Brown
Backstage
Karaoke Hits
Nutek (SAVA & SAVP)

Good Quality County
----------------
Chartbuster
Country karaoke Classics
Northstar COuntry

Good Elvis and Oldies
-------------------
Music Maestro

Good Broadway & SHowtunes
-------------------------
Pocket Songs
Stage Stars

...whereas you dont want to limit yourself to just one
brand, it will be nearly impossible to not wind up with
duplicate songs across the brands and as you can see from
the list some brands are better the other at various generes.

Overall I like Charbuster for most choices, followed
by Sound Choice if I cant find it on anything else.

it is advisable to start with some pack, such as the "All Hits
Maxx Pack", Backstage, Sweet Georgia Brown", also
look into the Chartbuster Packs (Essentail Vol 1-5)

good luck
