should i buy microedit?

i've been using soundforge for some time now but find it very restricting with only 1 track. also, i've been working on some megamixes but find that as i edit, add etc., when i save the changes, the quality of the rest of the track gets poorer (softer, duller, sounds wetted out).

has microedit overcome this problem? i find it painful to listen to the start of my mixes now, because soundforge's saving process destroys the quality. also, i can't afford the microsound package, is the $250 cd enough to get the program running fully on my computer? what about microCD? is that included or is it not necessary?

thanks, brian.
