Over copying tracks or disk

Is there anyway to overcopy a track or disk that is bad? I get the message that indicates the book id is already used and there does not appear to be a way of re-importing tracks or whole disk. There doesn't appear to be a way to delete a book# so cannot just start with a new book#. Thanks for any help.
