Thumbs up Laptop sound card not detected -- Fixed with V2.308

I am attempting to use Microstudio on a laptop to play CDG files from the hard drive. Installation went fine. DX8 is installed. Program starts fine and can read the hard drive list of files. When clicking PLAY, an error box reports that the system does not contain an audio card. (Trust me, it does). Audio is an onboard ESS unit (I can provide further details if requried). System is running Windows 2000 SP1, 256MB memory. All DXdiag tests (including DirectSound) run fine and report NO errors or file issues.

I have browsed this forum and the Microstudio tech Support forum but have not seen a post relating to this.

Any ideas?

Regards, Jimi
