This problem started with 2.?

Back on the previous version (before 2.?) I never had any problems playing Windows Media Player with Hoster open. Now WMP has very obvious dead air even with Hoster closed. It does not happen all the time & not every time on the same song.

I loaded Mix Meister & it has the same problem. What is unusual though is that I don't have this problem with the MTU laptop I bought. It has Windows XP Pro & 2 - 40 gig harddrives.

My 2 HP Pavilions have 1 - 40 gig harddrive & Winows XP Home Edition. All 3 computers have the same size processor.

The MTU laptop has 512 gig of Ram, I upgraded the HPs to 768 gig thinking RAM may be the problem. I also defragged the harddrives (which they really needed), but did not solve the problem.

I can live with the occasional burps we get in Hoster when opening/closing windows, but I really really would like to be able to get my dance music to play on these other 2 computers.

Is anyone running XP Pro having this audio skip problem in Windows Media Player or other DJ software?? Or are all of the problems happening in other operating systems. I will gladly update my other PCs to XP Pro if this will resolve the problem .

Wayne
