try this:
After opening the manual in printer friendly view, from the file menu select page setup to set the paper size you want. From the file menu this time select print and in that dialog where you select printer choose Microsoft xps document writer. Press apply and print, there might be a long pause before the box shows of where to save it as it is a long file.

After saving it open the file to check it.

Another option is instead of saving as xps document save as Microsoft print to pdf if you see that option.
