Windows 8/8.1 Hoster Tip
Hey Guys/Gals
I was having problems with audio cut-outs etc. using Windows 8.1 and whilst I was investigating the problems I gave the computer the old fashioned three finger salute (CNTRL/ALT/DEL) and selected Task Manager so I could monitor CPU usage. Imagine my surprise when viewing the Details tab I right clicked over Hoster.exe to see what I could do with it and in the menu that came up found an option to Set Priority. Having changed the Priority for Hoster from Normal to Realtime I now have not had a single audio drop-out! Please try this and see if it corrects your problems. I believe you can do this with Windows 8 as well. I also suspect that when you upgrade Hoster this option may automatically revert to Normal so it will be worth checking after upgrading. Good Luck Albert
