Delay/lag when changing volume or tempo

Hello...I am using Hoster 5.10 on my show PC, and am NOW sorting out my backup laptop. The backup lappy: Toshiba, LAPTOP SUMMARY -Intel® Core™ i7-3630QM Processor, Windows 8, 8GB DDR3 1600MHz memory, Intel® Integrated Graphics, 750 GB (5400rpm, Serial ATA).

I have Hoster 5.10 installed on the backup. Yesterday I updated the laptop in anticipation of putting it into daily use starting this week. I ops tested it at home to see if anything would sneak up on me. I do not use the TEMPO change feature on my show laptop. Seeing that it was enabled on my back up lappy, I fiddled with the slider and nothing happened. 10 seconds or so later, possibly even more, the tempo changed. I did the same thing with the volume slider...no change, then after returning the slider to default position, about 10 seconds later the sound responded by lowering and recovering.

Not a deal breaker for road testing it at the show tonight, but wondered how this could be resolved, what may be causing it, and if anyone else has experienced this?

Once the backup proves reliable, I will update to the most current version of Hoster on the show lappy, then the backup. Thanks.
