Can't duplicate more than two CD+G's, before Lock-up

If I duplicate two disc's, and copy the third disc to the hard drive, when it is nearly finished I get an error message saying:
"This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persisist, contact the program manager.

DETAILS
MICROSTUDIO caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 0167:bff88396.

And it freezes the program and computer, so I have to shut down (illegally too)
My common sense tells me that even though the previous data has been removed from my hard disc from the previous CD recordings, some memory or resources might be low. Imediately after I reboot, I can duplicate two more disc's as before. Any solution?

Win96SE version 4.10.2222A
128 OMB RAM
Physical Mem. 130,588 KB
System Resources 88%free
Free space 15.7GB
Upgraded to all the MTU drivers as directed
Microstudio Version 2.400
Pixelwriter 48/24/48U

I am duplicating some disc's now. It works perfectly for the first two, then I must shut down and re-boot to do more.
I know I can update to Win 2000 and maybe solve it. But afraid I might end up with other problems. Maybe one last fix with my same OS would be all I need.

Thanks
