video adapter to video splitter

i'm not sure if someone has done this yet, i just bought 2 19" samsung high resolution lcd wide screen monitors, ( 1600 x..)and both has vga's on 'em, and i also bought a pc to monitor adapter ( not tv ), not knowing that the adapter doesn't support a high resolution monitors, i then ordered another adapter from Provantage that support a high resolution..this only has one vga out, i am thinking of buying another monitor so i can have 3 to use, if i buy a video splitter that has multiple vga out, and connect the adapter to it..will i be able to have dual display..? just wondering if this will work.. i thought about buying an external graphics card case. that just came out, i'm just wondering if its worth buying it, the case alone cost about $300 , not including the graphics card..
