singer search slow

When I access the singer search while someone is singing, it takes a while to come back with the requested singer and sometime halts the display screen of the karaoke song while the singer is singing. This just started a couple of weeks ago. I have deleted files from my computer to give it more space but that didn't seem to help. I have a Dell XP 2gb hard drive with a 500gb external harddrive where I have stored my karaoke files. Thanks.
