Question on F Drive

I keep allmy kma files, and only my kma files on an external hard drive, which is "F". I turned on my system and a window opened and said.... Checking file system on F: The type of the file system is Fat32. One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended that you continue. Windows will now check the disk. volume serial number is 09F2-8FB2. Windows is verifying files and folders..... This is the first time this has come up. Does anyone know if I have a problem? Don't want to loose my kma files.
