Use Any Burner To Read Or Write?

You ask why we are notifying all of our loyal MTU Hoster owners? Microstudio has been re-written so you can use any burner to read or write karaoke discs, burn just about any kind of karaoke file back to cd, including your beloved KMA files!
Does this mean I should be able to use my laptop writer, the one that wouldn't read or write karaoke before? I stuck a cdg in, but it still wouldn't recognise it. What am I missing? Both of my brain cells are confused!!
