I agree with what you have posted except the part about timing Microstudio on the extraction of track 15. I use a percentage method instead.

e.g.
If the last track is listed as 7:15 sec. (will always be excessively long on multisession discs) but the song is actually 3:50 sec. I do this.
Convert each to sec.
(7 * 60) + 15 = 435 sec.
(3* 60) + 50 = 230 sec.

Now divide to get percentage 230/435 = 53%

Now when microstudio is 53% complete on track 15 hit the eject button.
I believe this will get you the closest possible to the actual length of the song so you don't have excessive silence at the end of the song. This can be a bother if you use Auto mode in Hoster.

After you have successefully extracted the song load it from HD into play tab of Microstudio and play it to see that you got the entire song without chopping off end or getting too much silence at end. If unsatisactory, try again.
