Hoster 4.11 Playlist lost.

Using Hoster 4.11, I recently reorganized the files on my external hard drive. I moved my .Kma files from E:/Kma to E:/MTU/Kma, rebuilt my songs data base now when I open Hoster all my previous play-lists show the songs as unavailable Now if I open Hoster 34 which I still have on my computer it still opens any of the existing play-lists.

The songs all come up and play by using the search fields or book ID entry, it is just all the old play-lists.
I was reorganizing my folders to be ready for the new version 4.20 which will have .kmh files as well so that I will have them all under an MTU folder.
Has anyone else noticed this ?

Roy.

The saved playlist has the location/path of the KMA file in it for each song in the playlist. You moved the files and those locations are no longer valid. That is why they show up as unavailable.

I can understand that Dale but why then does Hoster 34 still show and play the playlists even though they are no longer in the original file paths ?

This is no big problem to me I'm just curious as to why 34 can still find them but 4.11 can't.

Roy.

That is a good question and I don't have an answer to that.

I found the same results when I upgraded to 4.11. Some playlist had some songs that would play and the rest were "unavailable". Since it wasn't a big deal I never posted about it. The playlist can be redone but it is just one of those many agrivating things in the wonder world of computers. Other than the playlist problem, 4.11 has been very impressive.

i noticed that last Sat. too, i was looking for Elton John's song " I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues " and it wouldn't come up, i typed in just the first 3 words since the search field is only 1/2 in diameter, and i got a "no song matched" i ended typing the full title of the song...maybe i have to get familiar with 4.11 since i've only started playing again , it's almost a year the last time i played..

It may depend on when the songs were imported (what version). The header has changed to include additional fields that the older imports do not have until they are edited or worked with in Hoster. This has come up before when additions or changes to the header have been made. Not much can be done except to recreate the playlists.

Billy you are talking about something totally different. They are talking about saved Playlist problems not Search problems.
I am going to guess that your problem deals with the apostrophe in "That's" Hoster did not allow those way back in the version 3s. So it would be "Thats" instead.
