Hoster shuts down after 35-40 seconds.

I was excited to see the new version come out and downloaded it yesterday.
Install went fine program opened fine. But just a few moments into playing songs Hoster had to shutdown.I then re-opened and cleared playlist by selecting new and it still shut down.Did an un-install and re-installed and still shuts down.Even if I open it and don't touch a thing afterwards within 35-40 seconds it just give me the error window saying Hoster has to close and whether I want to send or not send error report to windows.

I don't know why this is happening but it sure is dissapointing as have been several of the upgrades in the past.??

Hoster 4.10
Windows XP Pro
AMD 1.8 GHZ
1.2 GB RAM
320 External HDD
80 GB internal HDD

When was the last time you did the Custom Updates from Microsoft?
Also make sure you have done all the steps on this link

Hoster shuts down soon after opening

I am having the same problem with the program shutting down, except I don't get any error message, it just shuts down and then I can reopen the progrom and within a minute it shuts down again. I have done all the recommended updates before I upgraded.

What operating system guys?
We need the same information that Kobesdad post about his computer so we can try to isolate the problem.

I had the problem. I just reloaded hoster but this time during install I checked the box that clears the registers and all was good. May not work for you, but worth a try.

4.10 crashing

Hoster 4.10
Dell Insperon 1200
1 gig memory
1.3 dual core processor
80 gig internal hard drive
320 external hard drive

I have tried different things such as deleting and reloading 4.10, it seems to work for a long period of time on auto mode with several songs selected, then will suddenly drop off. When I re-open it, it will play for about a minute before crashing. I get no error messages. I do not get a visulization on the 2nd monitor when I am in intermission. It drops off wheather i'm playing a song or not. I had to go back to 4.9d could not use 4.10 at all.
thanks

Ok, guys that are having this problem. Please Delete the Registry Keys as stated below.

There are two ways to do this, Reinstall the software as Laddie did, and check the box to clean the Registry or do the steps listed below.

Quote:
Fix: Delete Hoster's Persistence Registry Keys.
1.Left click the Start Menu and click Run.

2.Type in regedit and click OK or Open.

3.Go to the very top of the Registry Editor. It you already see the Registry Keys expanded below, skip this step and go to the next step. Click the + beside My Computer.

4.Click the + Beside HKEY_CURRENT_USER

5.Click the + beside SOFTWARE

6.Click the + beside Micro Technology Unlimited

7.Click the + beside Hoster

8.Click Default to select it. WARNING! Be VERY careful to have this exact location selected. If not and you proceed, you could damage your Windows installation, requiring it to be re-installed to fix it. BE VERY CAREFUL! With Default selected, press the Delete Key Click Yes when it asks you if you are sure.

9.Click the X in the Top Right corner to close the Registry Editor.

10.Open Hoster. It will be as if you started from scratch.
Dancagle,
Your computer at 1.3ghz and 1gb of Memory is not going to correctly run 4.10 with the Visualations on. You need to check the new PC Requirements in the Manual. You need at Least 2gb of Memory fot this version to work stable and correctly.

So maybe it was a bad install or download? Based on the above, I would try redownloading the prog and reinstall first.
If you still have the problem could you use the System Info tool in Accessories\System Tools to copy and paste your system details here.
This issue has not occurred once in the multitude of beta versions we tested prior to release.

Sleflar and DanCagle neither of you listed what OS you are using (XP, Vista or Windows 7)?

I would say if your not having any problems, then you might not have to do the Must Do changes, but if you start to, then that would be the first thing for you to do.

Sleflar,
That is one over powered system. It should not have any problem with any software, I would think.

Did you try to delete the Registry Entries as stated in the above posts?

I did the reg entries you wanted and ran a reg cleaner. Hoster still only stays up for about 30 seconds. I'll try my laptop next and see if the same thing happens. Wish me luck

ok so I tried the clear registry check box and running my registry cleaner but no go.
Also read a post about a newer release same version but with minor update so I downloaded again and installed with check mark in clear reg values dialogue.
Still shut down after 40 second or so.
Opened again and hit play in auto mode
First full song played I searched and added a song to the list while playing
no problem. Next song played.
Pressed Stop and switched to MAN.
Opened tools menu and got the shut down again.
Not sure how long a list would play in auto but it sure would be a challenge to build a new list if it shuts down every 40 seconds or so.
I have made all changes required for XP
I have done all Custom Updates
Here is the info from Sytem as requested by MTU

OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600
OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation

SMBIOS Version 2.31
Windows Directory C:\WINDOWS
System Directory C:\WINDOWS\system32
Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume2
Locale United States
Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)"
User Name ACER-586E497F47\Charles Wilson

Available Physical Memory 738.43 MB
Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB
Available Virtual Memory 1.96 GB
Page File Space 2.83 GB
Page File C:\pagefile.sys

Not sure why Total Physical Memory is Showing Up as 768 MB as I have 1.2 Gigs Installed??
Could this be the problem with Hoster performing the requirement check and if so why wouldn't it say there specify such an error instead of just a sorry but Hoster must shut down???

Trying to give as much info as I can.

Thanks
Chuck
