Preview window lyrics messed up

One One of my Shows for karaoke things went haywire saturday. My wife was running the show as as best I can determine the fololowing events took place. The show was running and the singers screen came up on the computer monitor. The time and date was incorrect on computer so that was updated manually. not certain if hoster was even running at this point. She got the words to the singers screen. they were not centered. when i got to the show I correct that part and the singers screen was working correctly, however on the preview screen the words were layering on top of each other as the singers screen was working perfectly.I have included all probs that were relayed to me even though most were easily corrected. I pulled the computer and brought it home. the words on preview screen are still layering, inother words as it goes from one set of words to the next it overlays the new ones on top of the old ones. I am using hoster 3.321. computer is a dell dimension 2400 celeron 2.40 ghz processor 640 mb of ram running xp home ver 2002 with sp3. Even though I can run a show with the singers words correct do not understand how it can be correct and the preview screen messed up. any thoughts. thanks in advance

Number one is you do not have enough RAM. Laptops use shared RAM for the Video. If there isn't enough then the video will not get refreshed correctly.
If this problem has just started then you have added or changed some program that is running either in the forground or the background. If you didn't add anything then it could be a spyware or virus that is causing it, so I would start by checking for those.

Preview window lyrics messed up

this is a desktop dell. I have not added any programs or deleted any and it is rarely online. About the only time it is online is when I update Hoster. I did do a system restore to a date that I knew Hoster was working properly. I have seen a few posts where you don't change the date while hoster is running. I have seen that myself it will just blank the words on the singers screen on this computer. I have to stop song and restart then everything OK. I do plan on upgrading the ram in future but wife's cancer has put a hold on expenditures until i get caught up on medical bills.. I have used this machine with Hoster for approx 5 years and have never seen it where the preview screen on computer messes up words but the singers screen is correct.

That is great and I hope and pray she stays that way.
If you have kept up Windows update they would add to the load on your memory as well. If this is a desktop then how much memory is on your video card. If it is also a small amount (32 - 64MB) then that could also cause some problems. In that case you may want to upgrade your video card as well to speed up the screen refresh. A card with 128 -256MB would be much better and faster.
I would say that it is time for you to upgrade Hoster, but that is a big leap in memory use and I know that anything less than 1GB would be very problematic.

Why was time and date incorrect? If it's explainable then ignore the rest of this post .

Otherwise it could be that the button battery that helps the computer remember it's settings when it's unplugged, could be dying. If the battery gets too weak it will forget thetime and date and other settings in the bios such as processor speed. It will default to all the slowest settings available.

If you start having to fix the time and date everytime you boot up, this is probably the problem.
The batteries are only a couple of dollars and they are easy to replace.
If it is the battery just replacing it won't fix everything, you'll still have to go into the bios and reset everything.

I just discovered that this has been classified as a hoax.

http://www.snopes.com/medical/disease/cancerupdate.asp

I deleted the Cancer_Treatment.html from my server so the link to it is now dead.
