4.05 Video Question

I have XP and recently upgraded to 4.05 from 4.03. I now have a scrolling marque on both my machine and the show monitor. Also, my machine screen is no longer re-sizable. Is this a problem with .05 or am I missing something?

TX,

Steve

Steve if you have the marquee set to show in the Intermission screen then it will show in your preview window also. This was change so the preview screen shows exactly what the main screen for the singers shows. When a song is playing then it shows the lyrics screen and when not playing a song it shows the Intermission screen.
When you say your machine screen do you mean the preview screen? If so you have to go to the preview tab in the "Show Display" under Tools and check the box to "Undock and resize display", then restart Hoster for it to take effect.

Dale, thanks for responding. Seems like another unique problem. Yes, I am talking about the preview screen here.

How do you set the marquee screen? In the "show" screen, the "undock" box is checked and I have restarted but the box will not move or resize. Last night it would move but not resize.

When I restart Hoster, the preview screen will flash a picture of the Hoster logo and then default to the "show" display and the transition has a lot of electronic noise in it. Right now I have the marque with singers names on bot screens. I hope this is something simple as it seems there is one problem after another and hard to concentrate on shows when you are chasing upgrades/problems. I will greatly appreciate any help you can offer in this matter.

This is when there is nothing playing. In fact, I can right click on top of the hoster screen and move it "out from under" the preview screen leaving it on the desktop. Another strange thing is that I can drag the show screen back onto the preview screen and then I can un-dock the preview screen but not enlarge it. Lookin' for help!!!

Steve, I am not having any problem with undocking, moving and/or resizing the preview. I check the undocking and resize button on the Show Display tool's Preview Tab, apply it, then close the tool and close Hoster (from the File/Exit), open Hoster and grab the preview window by holding down the left mouse button with the pointer somewhere in the window and drag it where I want it on the screen. I do the same in one of the corners when I have a double arrow pointer and resize it. I am not sure why yours isn't working, but could be a rights problem if you are not logging in with an administrative account.
The MTU Logo video you see on start up is to initialize the video setup within Hoster. Don't do anything until it goes away. You will have the marquee and the singers list (SND) on both screens as long as you have it set up to show on the Intermission Screen. If you hide the marquee there then it will not be on the preview. Same with the SND. Whatever is set to show on the Intermission screen will also show in the Preview.
When you start a song the TV and the Preview both change to show whatever you have set in the Lyrics Tab of the Show Display to be seen. The Preview is showing you exactly what is on the Singers Display at all times. This changed from the previous versions.

Dale, I unplugged the show display, reset displays, and restarted Hoster. I now have both displays on the Hoster page. I am able to undock and resize the preview screen but still have the show screen there as well. Am I hopefully missing something simple?

Latest is......I stopped the second screen through the intermission tab. Now, I can't undock the preview screen. Have clicked the undock button and restarted and also "reset displays." While the show screen was on the Hoster page also, I could undock and resize the preview screen but after double clicking and sending it back to the second monitor, the preview screen is locked in place and can't be resized.

The latest......on my second machine, everything works fine. I can undock and resize the preview screen. Please advise should I go to the download page again and try downloading 4.05 again? Is this possible? Looks like I have a corrupted program as the backup machine works.

Sorry, this is getting old. This applies to my main and backup machines both using XP with 2 monitors that both worked fine with 4.03. Both are currently doing the same right now. When I first started up my second machine, it worked fine but after 5 minutes or so, it does the same as the primary machine. My problems appeared when I upgraded to 4.05. I can reset display and both the preview and show screen appear on the hoster screen. At this point, I can drag and resize the preview screen. After I drag the show monitor onto the second monitor, I lose the ability to move or resize the preview screen. There are no songs playing. I can double click the show screen to minimize or enlarge.....works fine. Also, the "Undock" box has remained checked even though it won't undock. It seems that Hoster thinks that when the marquee is on the show screen that it is playing and won't allow movement. I know this is a lot to read but I need help!! Anyway to re-download 4.03?

Steve this is why you should save the downloads instead of running them.
Instead of double clicking on the singer's display to get it back to the second monitor try dragging it over then resize manually to as close to full screen as you can. That might allow the preview to be "undocked and resized.
Not sure what else to try as I have not run into this. For our shows we have not needed to undock it and resize it.
