Hoster Lite stops when Importing tracks from CD after 1 track

I have Hoster Lite V 4.03. I am trialling using a laptop to run gigs so have installed this version and am having problems. Sometimes the cd's burn ok, then they won't, then recently when I try to import from cd it stops after the first track has been installed, despite all tracks showing selected.
I admit I am not an expert on Hoster as I've only just started using it, but importing from a cd should be the first basic step and it's not playing ball with me! I've already had trouble with the cdg burner not wanting to burn, which is why I've come away from doing backup cd's, only to find Hoster is not proving to be worth the money and hasle either. Can someone please restore my dwindling faith...............

For reference, I am using a Sony VAIO laptop, Windows XP Pro 2002, service pack 3, 2.00GHz, 768MB ram, Intel Pentium.

It sounds like you cd/dvd drive is failing. Do you have an external to try?

Definitely sounds like the drive itself. Not all drives that come with laptops are capable of reading CDGs even when they say they will. MTU has a list of capable drives you might want to check & see if yours is listed.
