Hoster Keeps Shutting Down

In Hoster, when I pull up the 'search box' or 'add tracks to database box', when i try to do a search for a song that is in my database as soon as I press the 'search' button I get the message "Too few parameters. Expected 1. (3061) Would you like to see help?" regardless to what I choose, I get a message that says, "Hoster Application has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available" Then it kicks me out of Hoster. Please Help.

What version of Hoster and what operating system (XP or Vista)?

First I would say be sure and update your Windows from Microsoft's website and do the Custom Update. Install it all.

Then un-install Hoster and re-install.

Hoster shuts down when I search my database for songs

My windows installs were up to date. I am a little scared to unistall and reinstall hoster. I only want to do that if its very necessary. Will I have to re-download all of the karaoke disc that I currently have downloaded?

Is this from the Custom Update or the Auto update? Auto Update does not install everything you need, that is why we say do the Custom.
Re-installing Hoster will not effect the discs you have imported. All that information and files will still be there.
Try rebuilding your database first and see if that will cure it. Could be just a corrupted database file.

With Hoster closed, use Windows Explorer and go to C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster\Databases folder and delete "Songs.mdb" and "Songs_Backup.mdb"
Then open Hoster and it should build the database again. Be sure you have the correct drive\folder listed in the top section.

HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT? YOURE GOOD BABY!!!!! THANK YOU!!!
YOURE WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that those two files are gone out of, my computer/c:/program files/micro technology/hoster/database, It works!!
But, will I ever need those two files (song.mdb & song_backup.mdb) back for anything? And if so, how do I get them back?

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!!!!!
I WAS BEGINNING TO GET FRUSTRATED AND NERVOUS. I"VE BEEN ON THIS COMPUTER FOR LITERALLY HOURS.

Your welcome. Just call it experience.

And if you look those files have been recreated when you opened Hoster and built the database. That is your database file and its backup.

Hello Ddouglas. Those 2 files must be in a different folder now, because they're not were they were (my computer/c:/programs/micro-t/hoster/database). That 'Bucket' folder is still there though. But because my Hoster is working, does that mean that those folders are just somewhere else? Is it safe to say, "there's no need for me to be concerned with those folders not showing"?

They are there, but Hoster has hidden them from you. If you look again at that location and click on the Compatability Files button they will show. Since they are files used only be Hoster Vista has hidden them from you so you can't hurt them or delete them.
