Trouble importing zips files on Vista Ultimate laptop
Hello. I was using Hoster 3.316 on my laptop using Vista Ultimate 64-bit and I had no problems importing zip files.
I upgraded to 3.317 and now I am having the issues when I try to import, let me explain. OK. I have my zipped songs selected in the "Import ZIP Hard Drive Files" window and I push the "Import" button on this window. I get a smaller window with the following message "Field 'Songs.Track' cannot be a zero-length string. (3315) Would you like to see help?" In this same window, there is an "YES" or "NO" buttons. If you push "YES" - it takes you to micro-soft help website. If you push "NO" - it takes imports one track, and this same window appears again. One thing I noticed was that the "TRK" column is empty and it this column had track numbers in 3.316 version. This may be the reason that I am getting the small message window. I have all known updates installed. Thanks.

You are right in that it isn't seeing the track number.
Is the track listed after the DiskID in the file name as in DiskID-Track?

Importing zips using Vista Ultimate. (continued)
Hello. Thanks for the reply. I have not changed my zip song header style so they were working using 3.316. Here is an example:
Sc8281-11 - Artist - Title.zip Under 3.316, the track number column was populated by the program...if I put 20 songs into the import list, the column was numbered for you, not by anything placed in the header of the song. I was trying to insert a screen shot of the windows seen, but I can not get the screen shots to paste to the thread.

There is a bug in 3.317 concerning ZIP files, which has been addressed in 4.000 that isn't released yet.
I don't think anyone has had this exact problem, but it could be part of the problem. One thing you can check is to make sure the extensions (MP3 and CDG) on the files in the zips are the same case. If they aren't they will not import. Your example does show the track number in the name as in this case, Sc8281-11 - Artist - Title.zip 11 would be the track number. Be sure you choose the right settings for importing and pay special attention to the separators. If all else fails I would go back to 3.316 and wait for the 4.000 release.

Importing zip files with Vista problem (continued)
Hello. I went to 3.317 only because it will allow importing of max compression songs.
In regards to the seperators, if they were not set correctly, then the songs would not move from the "File List Window" to the "Track List Window". The "11" on my example is referencing the track number on that CDG and I would not think it would be used in the TRK column. Again, I think Hoster would assign the track numbers in the column. Regarding this, I chose the field order of "DiscID-Track - Artist - Title" to import some test songs. The import went perfect, however the track number was the number of the Sound Choice track. So, in order to import, I would have to re-number the zipped songs. I just know that I did not have this issue with 3.316 and I done alot of zip imports. Thanks for your guidance and if you or anyone else have suggestions, shoot away!

Then you need to customize the format to change Track to Ignore and add you own.
Since these are zip files there is no header within the file to extract the information from. Also importing from Hard Drive in ZIP format does not go to the database to verify or add information. The only addition Hoster makes to this type of file is to assign the BookID not the track number.

zip importing using Vista Ultimate
To make the zip import correctly, I had to add a track portion to the header. Again, I did not have to do this with 3.316. I am going to use this method to import the zips and will end this discussion unless others have additional comments. Thanks.

I can confirm zzeliminators problem although it's not a vista thing.
With 3.316, using a standard named HD track, if you tell Hoster to ignore the track info, Hoster will give it the next available track number. Exact same setup in 3.317, Hoster will give the error message he reported in his original post. Oddly after clicking "no" to seeking help in the message, Hoster appeared to finish the import without a track number and logged it in the imported files log, however the song was nowhere to be found in the database ![]() Something to look into. mindonstrike is correct
The way Mindonstrike explain it is exactly the issue that I am having. I also looked for the song which appear like it was imported but I could not find it. I know Vista Ultimate is new working with Hoster and Ultimate 64-bit probably a little rare but will become more popular. Thanks.

I named the file SF-11 - Ball & Chain - Artist.zip (I couldn't remember the artist name). The resulting kma had a file name of SF-.kma . I manually added it to the database, it then showed up and played just fine. It played in MS as well. I forgot to see if it had any header info attached but if anyones interested I'll check it. Thanks for verifing the import issue.
Thanks for verifing the import issue. I am an average user of Hoster and by no way a expert. I am sure that Admin will look into this issue. Thanks.

In Hoster 4.04, we searched for and found causes for the "3315" errors. Please test this and let us know if your files import now without errors. We expect to release 4.04 either September 2nd or 3rd (Tues/Weds).

Alittle off track. 3.321 to 4.03
The below thread conversation is old and I don't know if that problem exist anymore. RECENTLY, I have been in a discussion for another problem that several users were involved with and I don't even need if I still have that problem as I went from 3.321 to 4.03.
I do have a issue that may be fixed in 4.04 but I have not heard that it would be directly from MTU. I am a Vista 64-bit user with all updates. I had imports from CDG's and zips. My zips were not converted to HDMP3G in 4.03 and now comes my issue. When I put a hdzip into the playlist, and I play it, it is only good for that one play, even closing Hoster and reopening Hoster, you can not play that now called hdmp3g song. To replay that song, you must delete it from your playlist, add it to the playlist again, and again it is only good for one play, and the circle repeats itself. What is the fix for this? I have over 10000 zips imports in my song folder! Thanks.
