The Hoster program should stay where it is. Only the songs should be moved. After moving the songs to the external drive, rebuild the database using the new song location and you'll be ready to go.

Loading programs on an external drive is not a reliable way to do it, and besides if you are thinking you can move the program from computer to computer by having it on the external, that won't work (although you can move the songs computer to computer in this way).

Create a folder on the F: drive for your Hoster Song Files.
Find the folder on the C: drive where your Hoster Song Files are located.
Copy the files to F: drive into the folder you created.
Once they have all copied, then you can delete the files from the folder on C: drive. This protects you from losing the files.
Next open Hoster and rebuild the database but change the reference in the window to point to the new folder on F: drive.

You might consider getting a second external drive to keep an extra copy of your songs in case of hard drive failure. Just call me paranoid. I keep backups of virtually everything. I even use Acronis True Image to image my hard drives. Basically the point I am trying to make is that if you have all your songs on an external or an internal drive and that drive goes bad you will have to import every one of your cdgs again. Backing up the program is not critical. Just keep the exectuable file and you can reinstall it. Backing up the songs is very critical.
