backup laptop

Ive been using Hoster for 2 years on a HP Laptop that has been great, but now Im looking to purchase a laptop to use as a backup in case something was to go wrong. I would like to keep the cost at a minimum. Can anyone recommend a good economical laptop for a backup that will work well with Hoster? Thanks for your help

Hey All,
Have made many a purchase from Ebay, from UK, USA, South America, Australia and Europe and with only two exceptions have always found everything OK.
One was a DAB radio the other a printer, the radio works but the CD player on it packed up about a week after I bought it, as I only paid $25 , not worth making a fuss about and I got a refund for the printer.
I have put together a whole computer using second hand parts from Ebay and the Shuttle I built had matched memory and CDG player from them.
Everything is still working fine.
I have also bought a laptop, which I sold on and it's still in good working order 18 months later.
Most people who sell on Ebay on a regular basis know the need for positive feedback and most descriptions are accurate with any faults usually mentioned.
Some are undoubtly sharks, thankfully they are not so many as the media makes out.
I certainly have no problems using an auction site especially if you are after a bargain.
Regards from across the pond.
Garry

I agree Garry. I have purchased almost 100 items with 99% success. This is my 2nd HP NC6000. The 1st one I used for 2 years and sold to a friend, after removing Hoster, that is still happy. In fact I sold it for the same amount that I bought my new one for. You just have to make sure that the seller is real and have some good luck too.

Long Live Hoster,

Mark

i agree with you all. but im only expressing my opinion..would it be better to buy something without having any doubts if the stuff you would be buying or bidding has any defects, or the seller has a good rating.? what about warranty ? and i know that once you won the bid you have to pay shipping and handling too..and one more thing i didnt see anyone say something about if something goes wrong with the product would you be able to get it fixed ,or returned the product.w/o paying labor, shipping and handling.. i would buy stuff from ebay but in my opinion i wouldnt buy any elctronics specially if its gonna cost me $500..( thats a lot of money ) that's all..just an opinion..

Warranty is not by seller (though most will give you a 30 day return policy) but by manufacturer. As long as you register the item, you can ship it to them for repairs. I have had to do this on 2 microphone sets, one VocoPro and the other Hisonic and had no problems. You pay shipping to them and they pay to send it back. The larger companies usually have local repair centers too making it even easier. Just be sure you are buying from areputable vendor on eEbay and you can't go wrong.
