No Audio

I have recently started importing cdg's on my laptop, and there is no audio on the file playback, only video. I have the latest version of Hoster, a Plextor 48/24/48 drive. The cdg's play fine in Microstudio. Any suggestions. Thanks

did you go into the audio properties and make sure the wave volume was up to the max ?

Make sure that when you go into the Volume Control, Start Menu\Accesories\Entertainment that the "Wav slider" is up at least to the Middle or higher, and that it or the "Volume Control" (1st slider) are not muted.

All volumes in the volume control are on and up, volume works with every other software except Hoster. Cdg's will play fine in Microstudio. Are there any settings required for volume in Hoster? It's as if it is importing the graphics, but not the audio. Thanks

There is nothing in Hoster that does anything with the Audio seperate from the Graphics, unless it is the actual drive doing it.

What kind of drive are you using?

See if this helps:

Click on TOOLS, CD/DVD DRIVES DEFAULTS, and since you are using a Plextor drive make certain the USE SOFTWARE DECODING box on the page that opens is UNCHECKED.

Try this:

Transfer one or more KMA file(s) from another system (assuming you have another) to this one by CDROM, Network connection... any way to get it to the hard drive. Note the folder it is in.

I am assuming you are running 3.000 or higher.

Click the Tools menu Merge Files command, find the folder you copied the KMA files into and add it to the Source Folders list, then clickthe button to do the merge.

When done, these new songs will be in your Songs Database. Select one in the Playlist, add it and play it.

If it plays audio & video, then your problem is your CDR/DVDR drive, not the audio or Hoster.

Have you tried importing any CDG's to the hard drive, or playing a CDG track directly from the drive with Microstudio using the Plextor 48X since having the problem with Hoster?

That's the impression I got from your first post, that everything is still fine going through Microstudio. Think a bit of clarification on that point is in order.

i suggest upgrading the firmware from plextor.
