Question Urgent Help Needed - Book Ids + Batch Importing

Hi All,

I have got thousands of songs, ready to be imported into Hoster (I imported them as CDGs into my harddrive).
I was hoping that I could assign a book id number system that runs consecutively with absolutely no gaps, but when I tried this 2 problems arose, the book id #0 (zero) could not be assigned, and secondly whenever the brand or disc id changed the system asked for a new book id number.
Is there any way of importing all my karaoke cdgs without leaving large gaps between book id numbers (eg going from 001-5000 and so on without gaps) remembering that I'm changing brand names and disc ids?
The only way around this that I can think of is importing them as CDGs onto my harddrive (using Microstudio), Renaming the files using a custom Brand name eg "CUSTOM-01-55.cdg" (I am using the format: Brand - Disc Id - Track Number), Then batch importing them. (However this requires me to write in all the song + artist names, what a big job!!)

Thanks alot,

Mike

i think it is set up to only allow so many songs per book I.D.

whats the difference anyways ??

the book I.D.'s should be going in consecutive order. there should be no gaps unless you have used that book I.D. before while importing.

Without having hoster right in front of me this is going to be a bit of a guess, but I'll take a shot.

I don't believe you can have more than 1 disc id to a book id and in batch mode it shouldn't ask for a book id it should just assign one and it won't permit a book id of zero. If having disk id's is not important to you, you can try this.
Assuming your files are named thusly: DiscId-Track - Artist - Title.Ext, I think you can set the drop down boxes to Ignore-ignore - Artist - Title.(period after title). You can then give it a common brand name like "custom" and a common diskid or hoster will use a default one. Hoster should then automaticly assign 99 tracks per book id starting at 1. With 5000 songs you'll end up with about 50 bookid's starting with 101 and ending around 5199.
And book id's have no leading zeros.

I was kinda tired when I typed this so I hope it makes sense.

Sam
