![]() So, I now have successfully backed up all but one of my karaoke CDs, using various methods for the multisession CDs. Of course, the one disc I can't back up is labeled as using MediaClog.
The disc is Sound Choice Spotlight Series #8119 (Favorite Pop Duets), and I'm wondering if any of you have successfully backed this up? The collection is my family's personal collection, and we often sing karaoke at our dock, which is over the bayou. You can understand our reluctance to use original CDs on the dock... It is just too easy for a CD to be dropped through the boards of the dock, or roll off the dock into the bayou. Anyway, we currently only use this one in the house, but in the warmer months, it's much more fun to do it outside.... This particular CD fails on the read of even the first track when using Microstudio's Import Track function (although this trick worked for all but one of my multisession CDs.) I tried DiscJuggler (which worked for that one multisession CD), but it didn't work on the MediaClog CD. I also tried CloneCD, which reported success in the burn, but when you play the resulting CD in a karaoke player, you have no video, only audio. Any ideas? If y'all have successfully made a back-up copy of Sound Choice #8119, I would really appreciate any tips on how you did it... Thanks! ![]() |

Re: MediaClog and SC Spotlight Series #8119 - Favorite Pop Duets
MediaCloq is a type of security that is built into the drive, so it will not allow the CD to play or be recognized, from what I am told, under Windows.
I have never seen one of these discs myself, so I am not aware as to what you might try.

Re: MediaClog and SC Spotlight Series #8119 - Favorite Pop Duets
At one point, Sound Choice was required to replace any MediaCloq CD with an available non-MediaCloq CD. As long as the CD is still "in-print" and they have discs available, all you pay is shipping I believe... contact Sound Choice and they should be able to tell you if they can exchange it. Or perhaps someone here can give you more info...

They were in the past, but I don't personally know.

SC kindly replaced over a dozen discs with mediacloq for me last year.
