Question Hoster 3.0 error Ordnal 11 could not be found

I just installed Hoster 3.0 on a Dell Inspiron 4000 laptop for backup. I am running Windows 2000 pro
Video ATI Rage Mobality 128
Sound Ess Maestro PCI audio
I try to start the program and I get an Error code The ordnal 11 could not be located in the Dynamic link libary D Sound.dll. I just updated the audio driver. Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to get Hoster to run.

Re: Hoster 3.0 error Ordnal 11 could not be found

Install DirectX 9.0C from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

This will fix your problem. You might want to also make sure that you have all the Windows Updates, by going to the Start Menu\Windows Update.

I would also Run all the Windows Updates to make sure that you have everything. But your correct, you needed the Windows Media Player 9 or 10 for that error message.

Unhappy Re: Hoster 3.0 error Ordnal 11 could not be found

Bryan
I got Hoster to work OK. The only thing is, it won't work wright in the dual display mode. It will only work in the clone mode with my ati rage mobility 128 and Windows 2000. Same thing on both screens. There is no setting to change it to extend my desktop. Maybe I should have installed it on my other Dell laptop. It has XP pro and a ATI Mobility M3 graphips display which will let me extend my 2nd display. If I can't get the first on to work is there any way I can uninstall Hoster 3.0 and put it on the one with XP pro and the M3 graphips adapter?

Have you updated your video drivers recently? The direct x 9.0c may not work right with the old drivers......or if you have updated, it may not like the new drivers.

Re: Hoster 3.0 error Ordnal 11 could not be found

if iam not mistaken
ati does not support extend my desk top on windows 2000
in the laptop chip
windows 2ooo does support it in the desk top chip
there is some info on this at mircosoft not sure were it is but when i talked to support about this
this is what they told me

so if i were you i would check with ati to see if they have a driver to over come this

Re: Hoster 3.0 error Ordnal 11 could not be found

Mikedombroski is correct. ATI doesn't work under 2000 for Dual display, and this card that you have doesn't support Dual Display, actually. You need a Radeon 9000 or higher for Dual Display support, and it can be made to "Partially" work under 2000. It is not the exact same as it is if you have XP, but it can be made to work.
