video card xtasy 8200 se

I just installed Hoster in my PC. Now a video card is next. I looked up a post in the forum where they were recommending ATI Radeon 9200… I ordered it by mail but for some reason I got the XTASY 9200 SE 128MB AGP (Powered by ATI, someone said that was important)…
I would like to know if this card is going to work fine with Hoster before going any further… Thanks a lot for all your help.

Video card specifications:
ATI Radeon 9200 SE VPU
200 MHz VPU Core
Powered by ATI
128MB DDR Memory
Memory Clock: 166MHz (333MHz DDR)
Dual 400MHz DACs
API Support: DirectX 80.1 (works in 9.0)

Re: video card xtasy 8200 se

If you have a chance to correct the order, you need MADE BY ATI, not POWERED BY ATI.

The powered by variety are made by ither manufacturers who have purchased the rights to use some ATI patented circuits, and have been known to cause problems.

Not saying they don't work, but MTU strongly advises MADE BY ATI, not POWERED BY ATI.

Take care,

George

I would Return this card if you can. If you can't then try it and see if it will work. I don't think this card will work reliably, because we tried some of the Powered by ATI cards and they gave us problems.
