In got the file from Sparks. The file was Pop Hits Monthly Rock PHR 0310 Track 4 Creatures(For a While).

It does indeed give audio drops, at the very begging of the song and the very end of the Song.

Can someone who has this CD, try playing the Disc Under Microstudio and also on a CD+G player. This manufacturer uses our Karaoke Pro software to create all of their Karaoke Songs.

Please let me know what happens with the same disc under Microstudio and the CD+G player. The audio skip sounds like it was from the Original Disc, in my eyes. I don't know this for a fact, but this is what it sounds like to me as of this moment.

MikeDombroski,
Do you have any of these files that you can Test on your systems to see if you get the Same Problem?

I am attaching the file to this post so that it can be downloaded and tested by others.

It looks like there is some type of Size limit on the files, that it won't allow them to upload, this file zipped was 5.5 mb. And it did not upload correctly either.

My systems have CDG players and CD players in them, if I use the PHM disk in the CDG players no audio drops everything works fine, if I play in CD player it plays fine, if I copy in Microstudio as a CDG file and play in Microstudio there are no audo drops as soon as I import as a KMA file and play in Hoster the audio drops.

I'm attaching a KMA file to see why its not working

If this doesn't work, I'll remove KMA as an approved attachment.

OK, here's what happened. I got an error message that the MYSQL (thedatabase we use) failed to allocate the memory required to upload my 1.9MB KMA file. I tried, but attaching a KMA file won't work.

So I converted the KMA to a ZIP file (805KB) and it attached perfectly.

PLEASE ZIP your KMA files and attach them.

A RAR FILE REQUIRES A COMMERCIAL PROGRAM TO DE-RAR. WE AND MOST OF OUR USERS DON'T HAVE IT. I HAVE DISABLED RAR AS AN ATTACHABLE FORMAT.

I deleted the attachment after I ran this test.

I have played all of my problem disc in Microstudio, and in CDG machines and they play perfectly, it is only in Hoster where the problem occurs on both my computers.

Big Daddy... none of your attachments have appeared. Please zip your files with winzip, and attach them to new posts. Look at my two examples above. You will see the attachment at the bottom of the post when it is accepted.

If you don't see them as attached in your post, then email the original .kma files to SUPPORT from that link in the page this links to.

Again, ZIP your files if you can. If not, email MTUSUPPORT the .kma files. DO NOT convert them to RAR files. We don't have or use that program.

Tymzend,
I see you have a page file size of 2048 mg change this to 512 mg on both min & max. it will help. don't let windows manage it.

also, make sure anything that is auto is shut off....... IE: windows auto-update, or any antivirus or norton auto-update.

When you get the audio drops, you say the cpu usage goes to 96%, look under processes, and see what is taking over the processor for the remaing portion of the cpu usage. I am using only 2-9% pf the cpu time. this indicates that something auto is taking over.

The reason for reducing the pagefile to the same settings for both, is because windows constantly checks to see whether to change it. I am running 512 meg, and do not have the problem.

do a screen properties.....appearance......effects, and uncheck fade effect.

I had this same problem, but over a couple of months of tweaking I no longer have the problems like this with these cdg's. as to say exactly what fixed it these were the biggest part

FWIW; I am using the same d-link card, with no problems. But I did the auto-update from microsoft for the driver, and that caused problems with the d-link card, so I reset the driver to the original.

bryan /admin/phm

I had audio the whole song I played it 5 times
what I did hear was not an audio drop
the best way to tell you is

when the screen changed to words what I heard for about 3 sec
was like some one taking a guitar pick and going over the head of a mic kind of like the static in a lighting storm you hear on am
but I did not get any audio drop at all music was load the whole time

sorry guys it did not happin for me

admin and bryan you know i know what an audio drop is

after the first little thing i heard the rest of the song played fine

let me say this again what i heard was not an audio drop
it was eatheir put in by them or there was a problem in mixing this song

it is not the video of this song in my opinion
what i heard was some thing in the song

please send me more songs i will try them

mike

gduns,

I had my pagefile set at 512MB. I read in the manual, I believe, that it should be set to TWICE the amount of RAM, of which I have 1024MB. That's why it was set there. I have played with that setting, and it doesn't change the effect.

My CPU usage goes up to between 40-50%. I think S. Parks said his was going upwards of 96%.

What screen do I look at to tell what is sucking up the resources? I was looking at the % meter under task manager for that info.

Mike,

What I am having is audio drops. I am not getting the sound of a pick running over a microphone. These drops are not on the CGD's. Those play fine. The audio drops, at times, are significant enough to throw off the timing of the video. So, the video swipes will tend to be ahead of the audio.

Maybe referring to an audio "drop" is not the way it should be put, even though that's a result of what's happening. It's more of an audio "pause", and then it picks up where it left off.

We tried again at our gig last night, and the most blatant spot where it happens is where the video for the intro screen fades in. That seems to be taking the resources, and the audio doesn't get the resources it needs to keep playing. I've never had an issue with any Sound Choice or DK, CB, etc.

The video fading is what's causing it. Maybe I have a setting turned on, that should be turned off, or vice versa. But, I've been through the manual half a dozen times, and checked to make sure everything that was suggested was done. Not saying I haven't missed anything, but if I did, I wish I knew what it was.

It's probably the same thing that is happening to a couple of other people as well.

Thanks all for your effort is trying to debug this. I don't know what else to do on my end, except watch the boards and keep trying what people are saying.

Believe me, if I find it, there will be one big WOOT!!!! shouted on this board.
