Lyrics Problem KHP 2.

Hi
I've just down loaded KHP 2. installed it no problem
and it looks brilliant. I also understand the problem's
MTU are having at the moment and have total faith
they will sort it. The reason for this post is that I have
another problem, (not wishing to add to MTU's problems
at the moment) but think they should know. It is that
when I have built my song in KHP and then press the
"Play My Song" button I am getting a lot of garbled
lyrics before the actual song lyrics are due to start
Can you tell me if this is the same
problem your trying to fix or something else.
Not wishing to be a pain,

Tel.

Question Try this...

There are two suggestions to try:

1. If you intend to play, you must place all the lyrics you have entered. If you don't place all the lyrics, click the Place Lyrics button, not that Play My Song button. That way you won't see the garbage that WILL appear. What you don't see, then shouldn't bother you.

2. Don White (thanks!) pointed out that you need to have 2 (not 1, but 2) blank lines at the end of your song. Do this by... pressing the Enter key 2 times after you last lyrics. While placing the lyrics, make sure you tap the spacebar twice for these two blank lines.

These two tricks have made each of my test songs perfect. The last words sweep correctly and I don't have the garbage line-overwriting-line that is in this and other Threads.

Let me know if this works for you all.

The "technical background". The graphics rendering code takes the text (ASCII) characters that you have placed to the music, and converts them into the RW codes that display as the CDG format. This is the most complex area of all of KHP's code. Given that it is drawn into a scaleable, resizeable, movable window makes it even more difficult to rework. As this thread and others point out, there are problems in Camelot (or should I say KHP). However, to fix them requires rewriting and retesting the code.... we're talking more than a few months here. Thus, we must have work-arounds to overcome these problems for now.

Thumbs up Thanks Admin.

Hi.

I was putting titles on the end of my songs and did not wan't them to change colour as in the old KHP 1. so I stoped pressing the space bar before the titles. Now I don't bother putting the end credits in now and leave the empty lines and it works fine.
Thanks for that admin.

Unhappy Lyric Problems

Dear Admin and others

I have just tried the fixed 2.009 version of KHP and I'm extremely impressed with the changes,I've followed these posts for some time now and was upset at the first results with the software and posted it.I then found out it was my hardware causing me grief so I never posted again and just followed the postings.

I just tested a song and had the same problems as T.Wright with the garble at the beginning of the song but I know now I have to finish the lyric placing first, but I had lyric overlay problems throughout the song also and I'm just wondering if this is also a result of not finishing the lyric placing.

I could find out by playing more with the program but I don't have the time to create another wave file to play with and the one I was using started skipping so I couldn't finish it completely. Can anyone tell me if problems with lyric overlays are also caused by not finishing the song.

Thanks

P.S-I'm surprised that MTU issued the long statement about it's policies(new and old).If I didn't know how good this software is and was doing some shopping I'd be a little worried about a company that is receiving a lot of complaints and insults(No offence).I believe it is in human nature to whine about everything and sometimes you just have to ignore it because you realize where it comes from.

bds11, as I understand it right now, if you don't finish placing the lyrics to the end, then you can get weird and unexplainable overwriting of lyric lines at any point. I even saw one line with about 10 overwriting it.

Every time I go to completion, I get a clean song. Of course this includes tapping the spacebar to place the 2 blank lines at the end.

I believe if you take the time to read the 2.009 manual, you will find some interesting points that will keep you out of trouble.

Thumbs up

Thanks Admin,I did post this too early before I got into the manual,by the way I congradulate you on a fine product and I love the tips and info in the manual,it's obvious you've worked hard to accumulate everyones experiences and work arounds and put them in a easy to read doc.
Thanks Again,
bds111
